By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.
Proverbs 24:3-4
I am thinking that the sweet beyond measure Stephanie doodled that happy quote. She is delightful, adorable, wonderful, real. I think you will love her too. http://homegrownhospitality.typepad.com/homegrown_hospitality/
Thank you for your post! Although I know God is always for us, I've had a horrible day today and have felt the opposite to all of those words and have felt a bit alone. This was a great reminder and I felt like this message was intended especially for me. :)
I'd like to echo Miss Karla Davis. I've had a "terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day." This post was like sunshine for my soul. Thank you for always, always reminding us of God's goodness.
Help me win this award so that we can send the prize money to missionary friends running a children's hospital in Ethiopia!!

About Me
Erin
Hi! I'm Erin, welcome to my blog! I grew up on the shore of Lake Michigan and somehow ended up in farm country, Indiana. I miss the water, but love country life. Last year my marvelous husband and I built a big ol' cottage style home and are pouring ourselves into making it a haven, one project and trip to Home Depot at a time. This blog is largely about house projects and decorating inspiration. I am in my 20s, have been married for 6 years, and cannot wait to be married for 60 more. I love Jesus with all my heart and my greatest hope is that my life, my home, this blog, and everything in between will be a beautiful offering to His glory. I was born 100 years too late and love to sew, quilt, cook, bake, garden, and (obviously) decorate. Welcome to my little world, I am glad you stopped by to spend some time here. Questions or comments? Email me at proverbs2434@gmail.com
After house hunting for an old house on some acreage for over a year, and not having any luck finding the right house for us, we changed gears and decided to build a new house with some of the characteristics of the older houses we love-hardwood floors, built-ins, molding, etc. The house was built in 2008, but is still very much a work in decorating progress. I grew up on Lake Michigan and my husband grew up near the coast in North Carolina, so we both love the beach and miss it dearly while living here in the land-locked midwest. I try to incorporate elements of coastal style in the house without being overall beach-tourist-tacky ;) My dream house would be either an old farmhouse on 30 acres or a beach house on the coast. Maybe someday we'll have one or both of those . . . but until then . . . welcome to our "new old" house.
